How Long is the Season?
At Rebels Central, our competitive soccer program is a year-round commitment, running from January through December. Below is a general overview of the season:
- December-April: Tryouts are held, and teams are formed.
- January: Practices resume as teams prepare for the spring season. Younger teams may participate in tournaments later in the month.
- March-May: The spring season begins, featuring league play, indoor soccer, and futsal, typically lasting 8-10 weeks.
- June-August: Teams participate in 2-6 tournaments each year. These tournaments, both local and out-of-town, offer valuable opportunities for team bonding and skill development.
- September-November: The fall league season runs during these months. Teams compete locally and in neighboring areas across San Diego on weekends.
- November: Older, high school-age teams take a break for high school soccer. This “blackout” period lasts until the conclusion of the high school season.
- December: A holiday break for families to enjoy time together, though practices may continue, and teams may participate in tournaments during early December.
- State Cup: This annual tournament brings teams from across Southern California together. Younger teams complete their State Cup before March, while older teams finish in the spring.
