Club Guidelines for Parental Engagement
Parental Commitment
Your active involvement and steadfast support are vital to your child’s success at Rebels Central. Ensuring your player’s consistent attendance at practices, meetings, and games is key to building a strong, thriving team culture. The Coach will share an updated schedule for your planning, and we appreciate proactive communication if scheduling conflicts arise.
Sideline Conduct
Your positive encouragement on the sidelines is deeply appreciated. However, sideline coaching by parents is not permitted. To maintain a unified and focused approach, all game and practice instructions will be provided exclusively by the coaching staff. This ensures clarity in player development and team strategy.
Respecting Coaching Decisions
At Rebels Central, our focus is on long-term player growth, not just immediate victories. Coaches may make decisions that prioritize team development or challenge players in new ways. We ask that parents and players respect these choices, even if they differ from expectations, to cultivate a healthy, collaborative environment. Conversations about playing time or tactical decisions should be directed only to the Head Coach.
The 48-Hour Rule
If you have concerns or disagreements with coaching decisions, we kindly request a 48-hour reflection period before reaching out. This allows both parties to engage in thoughtful, calm discussions without disrupting the team or your child’s experience.
Promoting Respect
We encourage players to focus on the game, regardless of external factors, and expect parents to model this behavior as well. This includes refraining from reacting to contentious situations such as questionable referee calls, rough play, or negative behavior from parents or opponents. A culture of respect begins with all of us.
Facility Stewardship
We are privileged to rent these facilities, and we are committed to upholding all terms and regulations outlined in our agreements with the venues, as well as adhering to local laws and ordinances. This ensures that we maintain a positive relationship with the city, parks, and school districts.
Your commitment to these guidelines is essential in fostering a positive, respectful, and growth-oriented environment for both your child and the entire Rebels Central community.

Guest Players’ Responsibilities:
• Guest players are responsible for covering all tournament-related costs, including airfare (if applicable), lodging, coach’s expenses, team meals, and team transportation if rented vehicles are used. Tournament registration fees will be divided among the original roster players.
Tournament Commitment:
• Participation in tournaments is part of the team commitment made at the start of the season. Exceptions are made for injured players, who must provide documentation from a medical professional.
Injured Players’ Guidelines:
• If a player is injured and cannot participate in the tournament, they are not required to pay for tournament costs. However, if the injury occurs after registration, the player is responsible for their portion of the fees. Should a guest player replace the injured player, the guest player will be responsible for all tournament-related costs.
Guest Player Selection:
• Guest players must be approved by the team coach, who is under no obligation to accept a guest player.
Clear communication and adherence to these procedures ensure a smooth and equitable process for tournament payments.
COACH TRAVEL EXPENSES:
Rebels Central is dedicated to covering coaches’ travel expenses for tournaments, showcases, and State, Regional, or National Events. Below are the guidelines for handling these costs:

• The team will divide these expenses among the players, with guest players having the option to contribute to the cost.
Cost Reduction Strategies:
• Coaches are encouraged to minimize costs whenever possible.
Lodging:
• The team manager should book a hotel room for the coach at the same hotel where the team is staying.
• If the coach chooses to stay at a different hotel or an Airbnb, the team will cover the coach’s lodging expenses up to the amount paid for the team’s hotel.
• Coaches are encouraged to share rooms (2 coaches per room) but this is not mandatory.
• If coaches opt for an Airbnb, teams may coordinate and share the expenses.
• If a coach stays with family or friends (not in a hotel or Airbnb), the team will not cover lodging costs.
Transportation:
• Teams will cover travel expenses for events outside a 75-mile radius of the home field.
• For flights, the team will cover the cost similar to player travel expenses.
• If a coach drives their personal vehicle, the team will reimburse mileage at 65.5 cents per mile (2023 IRS National standard).
• If coaches carpool, the mileage reimbursement will be shared among them.
• Teams may choose to cover the cost of renting an economy vehicle for the coach, including gas, with reimbursement based on receipts (per mile rate not included).
• For out-of-state tournaments, if a team rents vans, the coach will travel with the team, and the team will cover rental car and gas costs if the coach cannot travel in a team van.
Meals (Per Diem):
• Teams will cover coaches’ meals during trips/events, typically referred to as Per Diem.
• The Per Diem is usually provided in cash at the start of the trip by the team manager.
• The standard amounts for 2023 (based on the US GSA rates) are as follows:
- Breakfast: $17
- Lunch: $18
- Dinner: $34
• If the hotel provides breakfast, no Per Diem will be given for breakfast.
• Per Diem should cover travel to and from the event if the travel time exceeds 3 hours or if the trip involves a flight.
These guidelines ensure a transparent and fair approach to managing coach travel expenses, making the process efficient for both coaches and the team.
